Fergie:

'"One hand on the title" doesn't exist.

'We're staying focused on the last game - and we're not celebrating any kind of title today.

"Normally for the last home match the players do a lap of honour. But at this moment in time we don't think it's important. What is important is next Sunday at Goodison Park."

"On behalf of both the players and the staff - thanks for the magnificent support you have give us all season - you've been absolutely brilliant.

"The players and staff have been fantastic for us, so give them a big round of applause.

``We had to win today to give us a proper chance and we've done what we had to do.

``Now we'll look forward to next Sunday. It's a marvellous game in prospect and we're aware it's going to be difficult - but we'll prepare our own minds for it.''

'It's my grandson's birthday party (Sunday) - it's a great diversion.

'After they equalised we kept momentum going - we didn't stop and kept pressing on, we played some great football and 3-1 at half time was a great result for us.'

'It was an unbelievable contribution by Ruud. The man is improving in every aspect of his game - you can see it in every game.

'We're really pleased with him. He's been fantastic and is keen to develop - you could see that again today.'

On Keane: 'I don't know how people can write off a player with his ability.

'He's had an operation and got through it - and today confirmed he's back.

'He's needed time and he's needed rest. He's got eight days before the next game and he'll need it to prepare properly for it.

'Everton have had a fantastic season. The enthusiasm David Moyes has brought to the club is there for everyone to see - it won't be an easy game - they played very well here earlier in the season.

'We showed our focus today and have showed it for the last few weeks.

'The lads have got their eye on the title - they want it and they play like it.'

On Ruud: "Ruud has been phenomenal, I have never known anyone like it. To improve so much through the season is just incredible.

And possibly answering recent comparisons with Marco Van Basten: "You can't compare him with anyone. Ruud van Nistelrooy is Ruud van Nistelrooy. He is a special player, one of the best ever."

Ruud:

'Firstly we wanted to win - but three goals makes it a nice day for me.

'The whole team are playing well. We're creating a lot of chances and with the service I get the other players help me a lot.'

Keano:

'Ruud’s a top striker and he's done very well for us. We're delighted to have him - the form he's shown for us has been brilliant.

'We needed to stay focused and we did today - we've got a hard match next week.'

'It's been a long hard season. A lot of people showed a lot of disrespect to me but I feel a lot stronger now.

'Once I got a lot of games behind me I thought I'd get back to where I hope I belong.

'Arsenal are a strong team and there's a good chance it could go to the last game - but a couple of months ago we'd have took that.'

Alan Curbishley:

'In all fairness we did as well as we could. I think they gave everything they had.

'Two goals in quick succession just before half-time finished us off really.

'I think they've done themselves proud - they gave it their lot and that will take them on to better things I hope.

'They battled away and gave everything, we haven't laid down here.

'You can't even begin to think how far apart we are.

'I'd like to think there are things similar. I've been around a long time like Alex, we've got some homegrown players. Alex didn't just build a team, he built a stadium as well and I'd like to think I've done the same. There a lot of similarities but a lot of differences.'
