Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Takes Small Dig at Paul Pogba's Commitment to Man Utd

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken a thinly-veiled dig at midfielder Paul Pogba's commitment to the club.

Pogba has been sidelined for large spells of the season and is currently recovering from ankle surgery, but he has chosen to do so away from Old Trafford.

The Frenchman has been joined on the injury list by Marcus Rashford, who sustained a back injury against ​Wolves last week, but his approach has been quite different it seems.

Rashford, a boyhood ​Manchester United fan, has pledged to stick with the team during his absence whereas teammate Pogba has been spotted swanning around Europe.

And the two contrasting attitudes haven't gone unnoticed by Solskjaer. As reported by ​the Mirror, when asked whether the pair would be joining in team meetings, his answers were rather frank.

"Marcus is a genuine Manchester United supporter who wants us to do well and help," he said.

But when questioned if he would expect the same from the French World Cup winner, he replied: "We all want this to go well and we've all got different ways of showing how much we care."

It's not the first time that Pogba's desire to play for the ​Premier League club has come under scrutiny, but it appears that he will stay with the Red Devils until at least the summer.

As for Rashford, he could miss up to three months after sustaining a double stress fracture in his back.

It's a bitter blow for Rashford, who had been enjoying his best-ever goalscoring season, notching an impressive 14 goals in 22 league games this term.

In his absence so far, United have failed to score in both games, falling to 2-0 defeats away at ​Liverpool and at home to ​Burnley.

These results have heaped yet more pressure on under-fire boss Solskjaer, who has seen his side drop six points behind ​Chelsea in the race for the last ​Champions League place.

But the Norwegian will have to find a way to win without Rashford, starting on Sunday when United try to avoid a potential banana skin away at Tranmere in the FA Cup fourth round.
