Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to Earn £1m Bonus Should Manchester United Land Top 4 Spot

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will receive a £1m bonus from executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward this summer, should the Norwegian guide the Red Devils to a top four finish on Sunday afternoon.

The Premier League giants currently occupy third place in the table, and they will confirm their spot in next season's Champions League campaign if they avoid defeat to fellow European hopefuls Leicester City.

Solskjaer will be desperate to prove his doubters wrong by securing Man Utd's return to the biggest competition in European football, and in doing so, he could also land himself a personal reward in the shape of a £1m bonus from club chief Woodward, as reported by The Daily Star.

Despite the possibility of landing this lucrative sum, Solskjaer will be in no mood for celebrations, as his visions for the club are far greater than only claiming a place in the top four.

"We've not ended up anywhere yet and it's one more game to show that we've become a better team," the Man Utd boss said.

"If we get a result against Leicester, everyone would say this journey has been a good one, but then again this is not the end of the journey.

"If you get there it's not like we can breathe and relax, it's go again, go to the next one, and we know that there are two teams too far ahead of us so we have to step it up even more."

The fate of Man Utd's entire season rests on Sunday's clash with Leicester, with many supporters demanding a positive result to ensure Champions League football next year. And having been struggling in mid-table until the excellent Bruno Fernandes' arrival at the end of January, a top four finish would now be seen as a relative success.

Defeat to the Foxes could see the Red Devils slip into a Europa League position however, depending on how Chelsea fare at Stamford Bridge against the impressive Wolverhampton Wanderers. The pressure is very much on for the final game on the season.
