O'SHEA'S BACKING BOLTON

“I don't see why Bolton cannot stay the course this season. Sam Allardyce will be thinking ‘why not?' because they have improved their squad.

“He will be playing it down and saying they are not going to be up there but behind the scenes he will be driving them on.

“They never get the credit they deserve but they have had some very good results recently and we are going to have a difficult test there on Saturday.”

Meanwhile, Gerrard insists Liverpool are still in the race:

“It's not over for us in the Premiership. Sunday's result wasn't what we were hoping for but with the talent we have we can't be counted out of anything.

“People will say the season is over for us, but United and Chelsea have still got to come to us, so nothing's over yet.

“We haven't made the start to the season we wanted, but we are capable of going on a 10-match unbeaten run and that would put us right back in the mix.”
