Park Ji-Sung uncertain over Manchester United future

The 30-year-old midfielder was one of United's most consistent performers last season as they claimed a record 19th Premier League title and reached the Champions League final, where they lost 3-1 to Barcelona at Wembley.

The South Korean star, who only has one year left on his current deal at Old Trafford, was expected to sign a new contract when he returns to the club for their pre-season tour of the United States in August.

But Park Ji-Sung told reporters ahead of his charity match in Vietnam he was open to the idea of moving to another club before retirement.

'I won't be able to show my best after one or two years. I don't know how long I can stay at Manchester,'said Park, who has been linked with Spanish clubs Sevilla and Atletico Madrid.

'I never thought about retirement but it's obvious that I don't have much time left as a player.'

He added: 'According to circumstances, I might leave Manchester United and retire in another team.'

Park was joined for the Inaugural Doosan Asian Dream Cup by Bolton's Lee Chung-Yong, Monaco's Park Chu-Young, Celtic's Ki Sung-Yueng, China's Li Weifeng and former Japan international Hidetoshi Nakatap.

The match was organised by Park's JS Foundation which aims to support young football prospects in following their dreams in the sport.
