PARTRIDGE TO NAFF OFF

Coogan has told the Daily Star it may be time to move on:

"It's time to do something new before everyone thinks I am Alan Partridge. I've had a great time playing Alan and I had no idea how successful he'd be, but it has to end."

He might have a point:

Norfolk folk have been queuing up to attack Coogan over his portrayal of the county as a boring place to be. One carrot-cruncher said last week that he wanted Alan Partridge to come and see for himself what Norfolk had to offer, when asked whether he meant Steve Coogan his response was that he would do but it would be better if Alan Partridge himself came along.

When the current run ends Partridge will return for a one-off Easter special and then he will be no more.
