Police say they are working to identify several Manchester United fans who attacked the home of the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward last night.

“Thankfully no-one was harmed, and officers will liaise with security officials over the coming days to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and identify those involved.”
After news of the incident emerged, Manchester United released a statement of their own condemning the actions of the select group of fans.

"We know that the football world will unite behind us as we work with Greater Manchester Police to identify the perpetrators of this unwarranted attack.
"Anybody found guilty of a criminal offence, or found to be trespassing on this property, will be banned for life by The Club and may face prosecution. Fans expressing opinion is one thing, criminal damage and intent to endanger life is another.
"There is simply no excuse for this."
The Red Devils return to on-field action tonight when they take on Manchester City in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final. United face an uphill battle to reach Wembley after going down 3-1 in the first leg at Old Trafford.
Supporter morale should be boosted by the arrival of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon, who after a tiresome transfer saga finally appears to have agreed terms over a move.
