POST-MATCH QUOTES

Ruud van Nistelrooy

"Millwall did very well. They were very organised and worked so hard. All credit to them. I had missed the last penalty I took but I was convinced I would score this one. That's why I gave it full power and it was good to see it go in. The FA Cup is the biggest cup competition in the world and to play in a final, and win it, is a fantastic feeling."

Roy Keane

"It's always nice to win a trophy, and the latest is always the nicest. We knew we were in for a hard game and all credit must go to Millwall, I thought they were outstanding. The goal just before half-time was very important for us because Millwall were gaining confidence as the game went on. Millwall had nothing to lose. We'd been saying all week that we were on a hiding to nothing. They were comfortable on the ball, we could see in their semi-final [against Sunderland] that they could play a bit. For us, it was just about being patient and professional."

Roy Carroll

"It was fantastic for me to come on for the last ten minutes and for my family who came over from Northern Ireland. I enjoyed it very much."

Tim Howard

"To get a medal and a cup in my first year is awesome. I can't say anything else about it. I didn't have a lot to do but what we did, we did well so we'll take the win!"

Gary Neville

"I think the goal just before half-time really settled us down and we gave Millwall more problems in the second half. But they made it very difficult for us. In the end it looked simple, but it wasn't in the first half certainly. Today was all about professionalism and making sure we did the job properly. I don't think we were outstanding but Ronaldo, Giggsy and Ruud produced really good moments for us. Particularly Ronaldo, I thought he was outstanding today. I think he can be a world-class player, right up with the very top players in the world. He's only nineteen and to come here with this massive price-tag on his head, he's done sensationally well this season for us."

Ryan Giggs

"It was a great day for the fans, it is a great place for them to watch football and we were able to give our supporters the result they wanted. Millwall had a game plan and they did that for 40-odd minutes. We were playing some good stuff, had good possession but needed a breakthrough and, eventually, that came. Ronaldo was outstanding. He got the goal that he deserved. That capped off a great display. Every time he touched the ball he did some damage, a constant thorn in Millwall's side every minute he was on the pitch. I think he has an influence on everyone. He really excites the crowd, he excites the other players and I think you saw exactly what he can do today."
