Still here is what the manager had to say:

"It was an exciting game. But we knew it would be like that because Bolton make it very difficult with the way they play so many balls into your box towards the big lads in their team."

"The referee made some major decisions today and I'll be having a chat with the referee's observer in the week and making my views known to him. Bolton got a break with their first goal because I didn't think it was a foul by Phil Neville in the first place and I wasn't sure whether Nolan might have been offside when Okocha took the initial shot. And then for their second goal, I thought we should have had a free-kick, not them. Nevertheless, Tim should have dealt with it better."

"We showed plenty of attacking initiative during periods of the game and at 1-0 up I thought we were in a good position; I couldn't see Bolton giving us any bother. But they got the break after half-time and in fairness they did very well for twenty minutes after that."

"Good character is a part of the team. We never stopped or gave in, and scoring as late as we did is not an accident; we've done it so many times in the past."

"Today's game was a big ask of Gabriel Heinze and I think he coped very well, while Wes Brown and Phil Neville started their first games of the season which was good to see. So there are some positives to take out of the match."

"His introduction changed the pattern of the game and we started to threaten again. Ronaldo was fantastic and was very unlucky not to score with a great shot."

"Three draws isn't what we were looking for out of the last three games. But in fairness, when you're having to change the back four all the time, it becomes a problem.

"It's certainly not an enjoyable feeling, but at the same time it's not a worry because I think the team are working their socks off, and as we saw at Blackburn and in today's game, we're making chances away from home. We just need to go on a good run and get a consistent back four playing together; we know we can get better."
