Confidential account info leaked to the Mirror:

A top Premiership boss wagered £12million on sports bets in a year, it was revealed last night. The millionaire manager makes up to 25 phone bets A DAY and is currently a staggering £415,000 down.

He gambles heavily on European and Premiership matches - not involving his team - and makes countless wagers on horse racing.

He is such a habitual punter that he even asked for the pages of the Racing Post to be faxed to him while on tour with his club.

The amazing details of the manager's £1million-a-month gambling habit were revealed to the Mirror by a former employee of Gibraltar-based bookies Victor Chandler.

“He used an alias for account purposes but I couldn't believe it when I spoke to him and he used his real first name.

“The guy would spend a fortune and the last time I checked his account he was down a total of £415,648.18p."

The Victor Chandler employee revealed the scale of the wagers after falling out with his bosses. The company made no official comment.
