Interim boss Ralf Rangnick has revealed that he has told Manchester United what they need to sort out in the summer transfer market.
The German will transition to more of a consultancy role at the end of the season, with Erik ten Hag expected to take over in the dugout after United decided on him as their preferred target ahead of Mauricio Pochettino.
With the hunt for a new manager nearly over, United will be able to turn their attention to transfer targets, and Rangnick has revealed that he has already made his feelings clear.
"I have told them how I see the current squad and what needs to happen in my opinion," Rangnick told a press conference.
"The rest I cannot answer now because it depends on the new manager. If he is interested and willing to speak about that and interested in my opinion I will need to wait and see what happens.
"We spoke regularly with board members and they know what I think needs to happen in the summer.
"If the new manager has been announced then if he wants to get my advice then I am more than happy to speak to the new manager about that but right now it will be something in private and internally."
90min understands that United are prepared to break their transfer record to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United, although such a move would have to be cleared by Ten Hag should the Dutchman take over.
In his initial conversations with United, Ten Hag has voiced a desire to improve United's midfield, as well as a new forward and at least one more defender.
