Real Madrid Set Ridiculously Low Limit on Spend for Manchester United's Paul Pogba

Real Madrid are only prepared to pay up to €60m to bring Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to the Bernabéu this summer, according to one report.

When he's not unintentionally winding up Graeme Souness, Pogba has spent the large majority of lockdown heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

The World Cup winner is believed to have ambitions of working with compatriot Zinedine Zidane, making the Spanish capital his desired destination.

Although Pogba is a target for the Spanish giants, according to Fichajes.net (via Caught Offside), the club are not willing to fork out more than €60m to secure his services, which - being honest - probably wouldn't be anywhere near enough to prise him away.

That figure is considerably lower than United's valuation of Pogba, with The Express reporting that the Red Devils have slapped a £150m price tag on their star player, although football finances have taken a huge hit from the coronavirus outbreak due to clubs suffering losses on matchday income.

United were rumoured to have a big summer of spending ahead of them. At the end of March, 90min revealed that the Red Devils' three primary targets were Aston Villa's Jack Grealish, Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho, and Birmingham City's Jude Bellingham, while England captain Harry Kane has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

However, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward confessed on Saturday that it may not be ‘business as usual’ for United in the summer transfer window as a result of the pandemic.

United may have to part with some of their assets in order to make way for Grealish, Sancho and Bellingham, and according to the Daily Mail, they are willing to offload both Pogba and Jesse Lingard in order to fund their summer spending.

Pogba has only made eight Premier League appearances for United this season due to a selection of injury problems, and has not appeared since Boxing Day after undergoing ankle surgery.
