RENNES RENDEZVOUS

Manchester United are set for a Paris meeting with Rennet officials this
Sunday in a bid to thrash out a deal for Frenchman Julian Escudo.

United's representatives making the cross-channel hop are expected to be Old
Trafford chief executive Peter Kenyon and Reds' manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The French outfit's negotiating team will be president Emmanuel Cuff and
coach Philippe Bergeron. Both parties have confirmed the meeting in the
French capital this weekend.

"There will be a rendezvous in Paris with representatives from our club and
Manchester United," said a press spokesman for Rennet.

And Peter Kenyon said: "We met with Rennet two weeks ago and a meeting
was planned then for this Sunday. We've got an obvious interest in the
player."

The Reds won't publicly discuss their bid for the French Under-21 defender
but reports in France have claimed that United want to push through a deal
that would give Rennet 3.5m euros for the player.
