Rio In New Contract Talks

The 29-year-old England international centre-back, who still has two years remaining on his existing deal, has recently said that he would like to end his career at Old Trafford.

"We've been negotiating for a few weeks now. I don't think we're far away, but negotiations these days are never easy," Ferguson has said.

"Rio's form has been outstanding. I thought in the second half against Roma his interceptions in particular were excellent.

"He's got great speed which allows him to beat forwards to the ball."
