Wayne Rooney will miss England's final World Cup qualifier against Belarus.

The United striker finished Saturday's 1-0 defeat in Ukraine with a calf injury and so will sit out the game at Wembley on Wednesday night.

Rooney's injury was assessed by the England medical staff and as a result he will now return to Old Trafford.
