SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO?

From The Times:

Keegan's Manchester City took the exceptional step this week of denying that
their manager had quit. Chris Bird, City's chief operating officer, said: "I can unequivocally deny that Kevin Keegan has resigned. The rumour mill has been in full swing, but there is absolutely no substance to this speculation." If this is a variation on the old chairman's vote of confidence, it deserves an A for originality. But do not take your eye off this Maine Road sideshow.

Keegan does not look like getting the £20 million he wants to strengthen his struggling squad. He sees this as a lack of ambition at board level. Crisis in the wee man's head. Anger replaces angst. Bird and David Bernstein, the City chairman, go down to his office to pacify Keegan to find . . . the manager's chair still warm and spinning slowly. A squeal of tyres from the car park - the career bolter has bolted again.
