THE DAILY BECKHAM

Phil Neville seems upset:

“It will be difficult to see him go. He's a good friend, a
great player. He will be missed but until he's told he's not
a Manchester United player then I am not convinced that he
will go. So much has been written and said but I don't think
you know what's going to happen. You just leave it up to
people at Manchester United and David Beckham.”

Even Michael Owen has an opinion:

“David Beckham is a world class player and everyone is
interested in his every movement. He has been linked with a
lot of clubs. I don't know where, or if, he is going to go
but if he does move abroad I don't think it will affect his
playing for England. The manager picks his best eleven
whether you are playing in Spain, Italy, England or the
Conference.”

Sven himself weighs in:

“I have never thought about David Beckham not playing
regular football. I think they (United and Beckham) will
resolve the situation one way or another although I don't
know how. If I am interested it is only for his best
interests. I don't care otherwise where he plays."

It is reported that Real will start talks with Beckham on
June 23rd, the day after the league finishes in Spain. There
has been more talk from Real about Beckham’s potential
commercial worth:

“There are icons in football and Beckham is one of them. We
have a lot of 'south' in our side; we have Ronaldo, Zidane
with his Arab blood, Argentineans, Spanish and in general a
lot of representation from the Latin world. Beckham is the
north. I think that at the moment, he is a compliment to the
other ingredients that would be especially attractive -
especially to the media.”

AC Milan have claimed that they don’t want Beckham. The
club's vice-president Adriano Galliani said on the club’s
website:

“It gives us pleasure that Milan's prestige as Champions
League winners can attract the interest of great players,
but that's another story. We are now thinking of next
season. We are speaking of a year which the squad of
European champions deserves to confront without internal
upheaval. But to buy a great player, if we have to sacrifice
one we have already, then we prefer to give faith and
gratitude to those who have won the Champions League and the
Coppa Italia.”

Owner and all round media mogul Berlusconi confirmed this:

“There are many better ways of spending money, earned with
such sacrifice, rather than signing Mr Beckham.”
