THE DIBBLE HAS STARTED TO DABBLE

Fergie expresses his surprise about having a fixture on a Friday night.

"It's result of the police being unwilling to police the Chelsea game and the
Notting Hill festival at the same time," he explained.

"It's a strange situation and I've never know it to happen before, and I don't
know how they usually do it - there must have been games in the capital on
the same day before. I've never had a game on a Friday night before, so it will
be unusual. We'll just have to get on with it though.

So who is to blame

"A lot of the unusual kick-offs times are governed by television. We've had
Saturday morning kick-offs, Saturday evenings - that's to do with television.
But this is different as it has come from the police and it's very surprising."
And on the travelling support:

"The fans set off yesterday (Wednesday) I think! It will be difficult for them but
I'm sure they'll be there," he said.

Spurs face Villa and West Ham play Arsenal on Saturday so it is still a
mystery as to why the fans with the furthest distance to travel have to do it on
a Friday. Thanks a lot PC Plod.
