THE LAST TIME WE’LL EVER PLAY WEST HAM?

The Hammers were represented as the Roma star scored in Tuesday's Champions League match at Ajax.

Reports coming out of Holland say the London club then went on to a meeting in an Amsterdam hotel with Batistuta's agent and a delegation from Roma.

West Ham chief executive Paul Aldridge is not thought to have been present but is believed to have been in regular telephone contact with the Italian giants over the last week.

Roma are prepared to let him go - but the major stumbling block could be his £60,000-a-week wages.

They want to negotiate a loan deal - which would cost around £1.5million - to start when the transfer window opens in January.
