The Manchester United Lineup That Should Start Against Norwich

With the talk of the town being Liverpool's first ever Premier League title win now confirmed, it's easy to forget that there are actually still other trophies up for grabs for rival clubs.

Despite Jurgen Klopp's side running away with the league in tremendous fashion, the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have their chance to win some silverware this season, as the FA Cup resumes this weekend.

United are still chasing Chelsea down in the league in order to secure a Champions League spot for next season, too. This, combined with FA Cup and Europa League exploits gives them a hectic end to the campaign.

The return of the FA Cup is a chance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to rest some of his main stars and rotate against a relegation-threatened Norwich on Saturday afternoon, who will likely throw everything they can at United considering their league fate is all but sealed at this point.

With that in mind, here's how the Red Devils could start at Carrow Road in Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final...

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Sergio Romero is likely to get the nod against Norwich

Sergio Romero (GK) - The Argentine shot stopper is considered by many as the best backup goalkeeper in England and he'll likely get a rare start this weekend.

Diogo Dalot (RB) - It's been a difficult second season for Dalot as he's had to do a lot of bench warming this season thanks to Aaron Wan-Bissaka's tremendous form. Rotation is key, though, and he'll likely get a start here.

Eric Bailly (CB) - He impressed early on in his United career, but injuries have kept Bailly from progressing as fans would have liked. Now fully fit, the cup is the perfect chance for him to get some minutes under his belt.

Harry Maguire (CB) - There's no rest for the wicked. United's new skipper has been a near ever-present this season, playing in all competitions.

Brandon Williams (LB) - Williams has been a revelation in his debut season, and will likely impress again this weekend.

2. Midfielders

Scott McTominay and Fred are both improving with every game

Fred (CM) - The Brazilian hasn't exactly set the world alight since signing for £47m in 2018. After struggling to adapt to the English game in his first season, however, Fred looks more comfortable this year and has been a solid performer for United in recent times.

Scott McTominay (CM) - McTominay has come on leaps and bounds since debuting under Jose Mourinho. The 23-year-old works tirelessly in the middle of the park, and his energy levels will prove vital in United's busy end to the season.

Juan Mata (RM) - Despite being at his best as a number 10 at Chelsea, Mata's career in Manchester has seen him used predominantly on the right flank. An experienced head in a must-win game, he starts in this one.

Jesse Lingard (AM) - It's been a nightmare 12 months for Lingard, who's had to juggle a lot of criticism for poor form with off-field issues and injuries. Now fully fit, a run out in the cup is the perfect chance to rediscover some form with a goal or two.

Daniel James (LM) - The Welshman had an electric start at United after signing last summer, but has since seen his form mellow out. A start in the cup is an opportunity to force his way back into the starting XI more consistently.

3. Striker

Odion Ighalo has quickly become a fan favourite at Manchester United

Odion Ighalo (ST) - A panicked loan agreement on January's transfer deadline day shocked many, but has proved to be a great bit of business. Ighalo has been a hit with fans at his boyhood club and provides the attack with a new dimension.
