Twitter Explodes as Man Utd Officially Announce Bruno Fernandes Deal Subject to Medical

That's right folks, the end is nigh.

No more baffling, contradicting or downright nonsensical reporting to come anymore. Indeed, Bruno Fernandes is set to become a Manchester United player barring any unforeseen medical hiccups. Which, even for opposing fans, we're all hopeful will unfold without a hitch.

An end to months of speculation and, for United fans, hopes that an end to their miserable situation is just over the horizon.

In fact, the next time the sun comes over the horizon, it may very well be the last day that Fernandes is a Sporting CP player. He's jetting off the Manchester on Wednesday night to get nice and cosy ahead of Thursday's medical, all of which was officially announced by the club themselves.

What does that mean? Their website crashed and Twitter exploded.

Naturally, the relief permeated across the club's fanbase as they look to finally secure their man.

The mouths of swathes of United supporters began salivating at the thought of the club's potential starting lineup, with dreams of Paul Pogba and Fernandes causing mayhem in the Premier League too much to handle for the overjoyed fanbase.

Ermm...Ok. At the end of the day it's a great signing but there is no need to get THAT excited about someone who will kick a football a lot.

Oh wait, never mind. Everyone is up to it.

Meh, who am I kidding? Major arrivals is what fans dream of. Let them savour it.

One particular person, who has been under the spotlight recently for all the wrong reasons, received a mention as well.

Having come under severe criticism from United fans, to the point of having his house vandalised by mindless thugs, special praise was reserved for vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

It's not all great news, though.

Indeed, plenty of United fans were fearing that Fernandes' arrival spelled the end for a certain French midfielder, who has been riddled with injuries throughout the season. An attacking midfielder coming in for a slightly less attacking midfielder could mean curtains for Pogba's Old Trafford career.

That's what plenty thought, anyway.

There were also those who hoped it would signal the end of the World Cup winner's second stint at the club, eyeing up other targets to fill the void his substantial transfer fee could afford to fill.

With heaps of expectation already being placed on Fernandes' shoulders, the final emotion coming out of Twitter was a hope for calm.

A call for patience in his development.

A call for support as he adjusts to the league.

A call for the rest of the squad to step up.

Oh, and there is always time to poke fun at Arsenal, of course.

Always time for that.
