Two defeats on the spin for Manchester United - Jose has got problems

Manchester United are even more boring under Jose Mourinho than they were when the widely reviled Louis Van Gaal was in command

And that is saying something.
United fans who expected a revolution and a transportation into a world of fantasy football have been made to think again, all too quickly.
Defeat in the Manchester derby was bad enough but at least United, for all their frailties and deficiencies, gave it a go

For a time at least.
But tonight's performance in Rotterdam against an average Feyenoord side was inept in the extreme and lacking the invention of United sides in times gone by.
The Special One has become The Boring One and the sooner he finds the right formula and the right players to carry out his instructions the better.
United followers hailed the arrival of the former Chelsea boss and dared to dream that he would deliver the goods where, post-Sir Alex, others had failed.
It is too early to judge, of course, but even with the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba - amongst others - I don't see anything to excite me in Jose's United.
Mourinho said before the clash with Feyenoord that United didn't want to be in the Europa League

And it showed.
To be fair to Mourinho, he did give Marcus Rashford the start United fans had demanded but, starved of service, he was unable to make an impact and was duly replaced by Zlatan in the second half.

Tonny Vilhena's 79th minute strike for Feyenoord at least sparked a lethargic United into life and they created numerous chances in the last ten minutes.
But when the most potent striking threat is defender Marcos Rojo you know you know you have got problems

Back to the drawing board for Jose.
