Van Der Sar Agree's New Deal

The 38-year-old Dutch goalkeeper, who's original deal had been due to expire at the end of this season, will put-pen-to-paper on a new contract which will tie him to the club until the summer of 2010.

"We have agreed a new one-year contract with Edwin," said United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"His experience, temperament, professionalism and performance level have not changed one bit since he has been with us.

"Obviously, it will be his last year. He will be almost 40 then, which is a great credit to the lad.

"He has been absolutely marvellous here."
