From United's site:

"I didn't know what I was letting myself in for until I made my debut against Yugoslavia.

"Then the world's media came upon me, wanting to speak to me because I'd broken Pele's record (as the World Cup's youngest player).

"It was a bit difficult at times because of the language barrier with some of the foreign media. They'd tell me what the question was going to be in English, but then ask it in their own language which completely threw me!

"Moments that stick in my mind include singing the national anthem when I made my debut and then beating Spain, the host nation, with ten men.

"The Spain match was played in a great atmosphere, one of the best I can remember. We went on to play against the best player in the world at the time, Michel Platini, he was absolutely brilliant. That was a great experience (despite losing, 4-1 to France)."
