WHO IS AND WHO ISN'T

Manchester United are monitoring Real Mallorca's £10million-rated Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o, the striker's agent claimed today.

Willie McKay says Ferguson's scouts have already checked on the 22-year-old who Tottenham were pursuing last summer.

“Samuel's got three years left on his contract but he's desperate to come to the Premier League. I've put him forward to Manchester United and they've watched him recently. He's scored 15 goals this year but the problem is that Mallorca want £10million for him.”

Eto'o's former club Real Madrid have a massive 50 per cent sell-on clause in his contract but that clause expires this summer.

Contrasting reports on Kewell.

Some say that United are hoping to snatch him from Arsenal’s grasp after he had talks with David Dein yesterday. His agent Bernie Mandic revealed that United have already offered the most attractive financial package but Mandic says that Kewell is attracted by the prospect of becoming a second striker at Arsenal behind Thierry Henry:

"Harry is not a player who has chased money in the past, and he is not a player who will chase money in the future.

"The next phase of Harry's career is one that will be the best for him and make him the best possible player he can be."

Our information is that Kewell was asking for more money from United and no doubt this statement is simply a ruse to get more.

The other Kewell reports suggest that he won’t be going to OT because he’s not been impressed with the way Becks has been treated by United.
