From The Mirror:

Robbie Fowler has fled his £1million mansion with his family after armed raiders burst in and fled with his car and a haul of valuables.

Millionaire Fowler has moved his wife and three daughters - aged four, two, and two months - into a penthouse apartment in his native Liverpool after the masked gang broke into his home in Leeds in the early hours.

Fowler, 27, his wife Kerrie, 24, and the children were asleep upstairs when the raiders broke in.

The robbers took with them a haul of valuables, including a computer and a mobile phone, before racing off in the 4x4.

A source close to the player said: "When he realised what had gone on all he was worried about was Kerrie and the kids - they are his life.

"He doesn't care what they took as long as his family were not hurt.

"But he is now so worried about them he has moved away from the area. He just wants to make sure his family are safe."

The friend added: "Robbie was particularly worried about the phone being nicked.

"It has loads of private numbers on it and he is worried about it falling into the wrong hands.

"Obviously it was cancelled straight away but the information couldn't be wiped. It has just added to his general fears about security."

A neighbour of Fowler's said: "It was the middle of the night and Robbie and his family were all upstairs in bed. The gang nicked some valuables from the house and then drove off in Kerrie's car.

"I don't think Robbie was too upset because I saw him on the Monday morning when he left his house for training and he looked fine.

"I know that police called round to his house on the Monday too. It must have been awful for him. He is so affected that we have heard he wants to go back home to Liverpool.

"A couple have agreed a deal and Robbie is in the process of moving out. He hasn't been staying here as far as I know. He must have had enough."
