Cameroon international midfielder Carlos Baleba officially linked up with his new Manchester United teammates on Tuesday, taking part in his first full training session at Carrington.

The 22-year-old central midfielder completed a major move from Brighton and Hove Albion before the international break, with head coach Michael Carrick eager to integrate him into the engine room immediately.

United are reeling from a bruising 1-0 defeat in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford, where ten-man Manchester City edged the contest through Erling Haaland.

Pundits and supporters have heavily scrutinised United lack of midfield control and sluggish passing tempo during their opening four league fixtures.

Carrick is considering handing Baleba his full debut on Saturday when United travel to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, hopeful that the former Lille player can inject immediate urgency into their domestic campaign.
