According to the Sun this is how the deal is structured.

United will pay £29.1million to sign Ferdinand on a five-year contract - after Leeds turned down a £29m bid on Friday.

The Elland Road club could receive a further £4m depending on United's future performances, taking the total fee to £33.1m.

£14.9m is payable now, immediately clearing Leeds' debt, with £14.2m due in 12 months.
