"There are several players from last year's youth team who look very promising.
"The bar has been raised and the standard has improved in the last 10 years though, so it's difficult to say that they will get the same opportunities as Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, the Nevilles, Paul Scholes and David Beckham.
"But I would say the potential is similar to what it was then.
"Players like Chris Eagles, David Jones, Paul McShane and Kieran Richardson all have good ability.
"And this year's squad is possibly a bit better in terms of natural ability. They are very good.
"I have never been more pleased with the standard of player we have at the club. It is absolutely fantastic."
