SIR ALEX FERGUSON has a crunch fixture on Saturday, his horse Gatwick is second favourite for the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket.

Earlier this season Fergie and his co-owners splashed out £70,000 to run Gatwick in the Derby. He has won good handicaps at Goodwood, Haydock and Beverley this year for trainer Mick Channon.

Yesterday, 72 were declared for the Cambridgeshire.
