‘Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan is having talks with Danny Mills about filling his problem right-back position. Mills was cleared by Leeds United to thrash out a contract with City yesterday.

‘Mills' wages - around £2million a year - have put off Newcastle, Birmingham and Middlesbrough so far. Manchester City are now the main option for him but Leeds may have to give Mills some money to go because Keegan's financial men are reluctant to offer a three-year deal.’
