A PERFECT WORLD

Darren Fletcher:

“As far as I'm concerned, his performances are always unbelievable. We see that all the time in training and when he is on form like this he is hard to beat. He's one of the best players in the world. You wouldn't believe he is 31. His fitness levels aren't those of a 31-year-old. The way he plays is all about dribbling and that's what you associate with young kids. He wants to take people on, create chances and score goals and he has been fantastic.

Defences will be terrified of him in that form. We've seen him do it over 10 to 12 years in this country and in Europe. There is no player any defence likes playing against less than Ryan Giggs. It was disappointing when you heard that criticism coming from the stands because Ryan has been a great servant to this club, one of the all-time great players at Manchester United. But it happens in football. Anyway, he's shrugged it off.”

John O’Pie:

“I don't know how many times I've seen him written off, but every time it happens I just laugh because he is one of the best left-wingers in the world. He is playing as well now as he ever has done. Maybe the system we are playing is helping him out a lot more. He has a bit more freedom than being stuck to the touchline and is causing defenders a lot of problems. If you speak to any of the Villa defenders they'd single him out.”
