A TOUGH TEST

"We will get a real challenge because, having beaten them recently, you know it's going to be even more difficult going to their ground," said Ferguson.

Playing for second place:

"The players realise how important it is to finish second in the Premiership, so hopefully we can be consistent right to the end of the season and secure that runners-up spot."

And Wigan’s Jamie Bullard is a big fan of Wayne Rooney:

"I've played against Rooney twice now, and he's just brilliant. Then there's Ronaldo, while Ryan Giggs was very impressive.

"You can only aspire to be as good as these players. We will never be in awe of them, it's just they simply play at a level I want to reach.

"For me, the likes of Rooney, he is so hungry. His game is all about aggression and wanting to win the ball, score goals, do everything.

"I look at his attributes, and to have those at his age is unbelievable. Okay, he is a striker and I'm a midfielder, but even if you put him in midfield I think he would be one of the best in the world. So when I look at him I know I have room for improvement within myself."
