Patrick Barclay in the Sunday Telegraph:
Meanwhile, football journalists in the US are writing off the tour. "There will be a lot of unused press passes," one told me from Los Angeles. "I was hoping to be sent to New York. But how do I sell that to my editor if there's no Beckham? I'll be lucky to get the bus fare to downtown LA."
Meanwhile Charlie Stillitano, spokesman for promoters ChampionsWorld, said: "David Beckham's transfer will not have any impact on the tour.
"We've been promoting this tour as the Red Devils coming to America. We haven't been promoting it as a David Beckham tour.
"What I know is that we've had two dozen e-mails from people curious as to what will happen now following the transfer.
"But we haven't had one request for a refund. I don't suspect there's going to be any problem here at our end."
