Ajax boss 'assuming' Antony will stay despite Man Utd interest

Ajax head coach Alfred Schreuder has revealed that he expects Antony to stay at Ajax despite interest from Manchester United.

90min understands the Brazil international's representatives have been in contact with the Red Devils regarding personal terms of a potential transfer, with the Dutch champions expecting to receive a new offer in the coming days.

However, Schreuder - who has been defiant all summer that Antony will stay in Amsterdam - has admitted that while the winger is currently not training with the first team due to his conduct, he expects the 22-year-old to still be at the club following September's transfer deadline.

"Antony is not training with the group, but I do see him every day. Nothing has changed since last Sunday," he said.

"We don't have a deadline. But I am assuming Antony will stay. He has a contract at Ajax."

While Antony's future at Ajax is still up in the air, the club are continuing to work on a deal to bring Hakim Ziyech back to the Johan Cruyff Arena.

However, 90min understands they are in a standoff with Chelsea over the type of deal, with the Blues looking to sell Ziyech and Ajax only willing to take him on loan.
