Edwards last night, it was announced that he would become
the first United President since Sir Matt Busby passed away
in 1994. Edwards will only be the third President in the
club’s history, with Busby and John Henry Davies having held
the role before him.
It is reported that Bobby Charlton and Paddy Crerand
attended the dinner but there was no mention of Fergie’s
presence to celebrate to tenure of a man who tried on three
occasions to sell United to Robert Maxwell, Michael Knighton
and Rupert Murdoch.
