"Wes is doing fine all his remedial work is good and he is probably ahead of the game a bit, but we aren't taking any chances. At the moment, all he is doing is running. He is nowhere near going near a ball yet, but we think we are ahead compared with where he was when he had his last injury.
"It will be Christmas time when he is ready to play again. The same applies to Ole. He will be back by Christmas. He thinks he is ready now to start doing more, but no, it is Christmas for him as well.
"Wes has been an unlucky lad and you just pray the boy gets a break," continued the boss. "But the technology of the surgery has changed now and there has been a great advancement in the way the problem is treated.
"A lot of players are going to Colorado these days to see the surgeon who did Ruud van Nistelrooy's operation when he had the same problem and Craig Bellamy from Newcastle went there last week."
