From The Indie:

Martin Edwards, the former chairman of Manchester Utd, was arrested

Police arrested Edwards at the beginning of this month and later released him on bail as part of a money-laundering investigation involving the Liberal Democrats' controversial backer, Michael Brown, who is currently in Spain awaiting extradition to the UK, according to reports in the Independent.

'However, he has not been charged and Edwards has since been released from his bail conditions after the money-laundering unit of the City of London Police wrote to him confirming they now believe him to be the victim of fraud.
"I'm not the guilty party,"Mr Edwards said. "I've been through a pretty awful time. I'm not being charged and they think I am the victim of investment fraud." '

Further investigations are ongoing.
