Van der Sar wants a group victory

"We want to finish as group winners and we need a win to stay in control of the group.

"Lille are a well organised, strong team but they didn't look in too much of a hurry to score against us at Old Trafford and given that experience, I am hopeful we will get a better result than we did at home.

"It is possible playing at the Stade de France will help us.

"So far, our away record has been better than our home record anyway, so we hope that will continue for another week at least.

"I don't think it will be any harder playing Lille in France than it was at Old Trafford," said Ferguson. "We will go for it, even though we will be the away team."
