Shaun Goater could miss the first month of Manchester City's Premiership campaign after breaking a toe. He originally thought to have severe bruising when he was injured while playing for City's Under-19 side against Huddersfield last week. However, the new verdict has put Goater on the sidelines (The Mail)

Dwight Yorke enjoyed a less than auspicious Blackburn debut as his new club crashed to a 4-1 defeat to Nuremburg in Germany.

Yorke was quickly reunited with his former Manchester United cohort Andy Cole in the Rovers attack.

But the duo, once considered the most feared strike partnership in Europe, were unable to stop their side from tumbling to defeat.
