ANOTHER RONNIE BID

Last updated : 09 July 2003 By Editor
In the transfer saga of the summer Jar Jar Binks' destiny should be known by tomorrow. United have upped their bid for Ronaldinho to around £18 million way short of the £35 million price that was quoted last week.

United seem to be trying to keep quiet about the move as the stock exchange will have to be informed about any development before anything can go public. However a United spokesman has said:

"We are pursuing our interest in the player."

PSG'S President Francis Graille also seems confident something will happen this week.
"One way or another this transfer will be sorted out this week,"

"We've been in contact with the interested clubs every day but it's not up to me to rush things. United will have to make a significant offer to persuade us to let Ronaldinho go and, at the moment, I have yet to receive that bid in writing."

"If nothing happens, I would expect to see the player back for pre-season training with the rest of the squad on Thursday."

Meanwhile Ronaldinho's brother Roberto Assis, who acts as his agent said "It will be resolved on Thursday."

About bloody time as well.
