United's South African midfielder Quinton Fortune was last
night at the centre of a worldwide manhunt after going
missing ahead of Sunday's African Nations Cup qualifier
against Ivory Coast.
Fortune, 26, missed recent friendlies against both England
and Trinidad & Tobago and attempts to reach him on his
mobile phone have so far failed.
Desperate South Africa FA president Molefi Oliphant said:
"We don't know where Quinton is, he cannot be traced."
