ARSENE'S ARSE

Arsene Wenger has disagreed with Alex Ferguson's statement that it is 'bum squeaking' time in the Premiership. Ahead of Arsenal's CL match against Valencia he said:

"I don't agree with him."

"We had a disappointing result at Blackburn at the weekend but, apart from that, we have done very well."

When asked if the Ewood Park game led to him kicking a boot at his players Wenger responded:

"I'm a two-footed player and kick right to where I want. I'm not clumsy."

He then went on to say: "Everybody has his opinion and we respect Man United - but we have our own belief and confidence, which is high.

"The fact we are challenged makes it exciting, enjoyable. And it will get the best out of my team.

"We respond best when we are pushed.

"It is all in our hands - and that is a great opportunity."

Robert Pires also had a few words to say about United and SAF. When asked about Sir Alex's comments he said: "Let him look after his team - and let Arsene Wenger look after the Arsenal players.

"Mr Ferguson is trying to make us lose concentration by saying things like that, by saying Arsenal and its coach and its players are arrogant.

"If that's how he takes it, that's up to him. Myself, I don't want to get into a debate with Ferguson or the Manchester United players.

"We will see where we all stand in May."
