BAD, BAD MAN

The Independent this morning reports that Rio Ferdinand is still stalling over a new contract. Red Issue's favourite agent Pini Zahavi says that no new talks are scheduled until the new offer is improved. It's believed that he wants up to £120,000 a week to sign up again as he believes he deserves it for being the best in the world.

Zahavi told the Independent: "No one is having talks. There is no need to speak. He has two years [left on his contract]. There was at some stage an idea [for a new contract] but we could not reach an agreement."

Then come the clichés

"He is loyal to Manchester United and does not want to leave."

It really looks like it Mr. Zahavi

The press had been saying that Real Madrid were interested in signing Ferdinand but their sporting director Arrigo Sacchi has insisted: “Ferdinand is a great player but he is not in our plans. We are concentrating on other necessities for the team.

“Among other things, he belongs to another club and it is not our policy to work on those players.”

(After all they aren't Chelsea)
