BANGING THEM IN

According to the TV commentators Ronaldo ought to have looked a bit happier at breaking his Premiership duck on Saturday, what they hadn't picked up was the almighty bollocking he received from Gary Neville for the miss a few moments earlier.

Pouncing on Casey Keller's fumble from Paul Scholes shot Ronaldo stab the ball over the bar, Keane and Gary Nev steamed in to him and Neville revealed why he was so hard on the young 'un:

"We are getting a ruthless streak in front of goal. A 3-0 win is good, don’t get me wrong, but I want us to start to win by four, five or six at home. We could have done that against Southampton if we had been a bit more ruthless."

Looking up the table and forward to next weekend Neville added:

"If we win at Fulham next week we have the chance to close the gap on one of them, or both if they draw. We are in a position now where we can make no more mistakes."
