Manchester United regained the Premier League title for the 20th time off rivals Manchester City. They were crowned Champions after a 3-0 home win over Aston Villa with 4 games to go. A hat-trick by star man and what proved to be buy of the season Robin Van Persie sealed the Red Devil's title.
In With The New
We had new winners of both the prestigious FA Cup and League Cup. Wigan Athletic and Swansea City respectively defined 4130/1 odds to become champions of the domestic cups. Wigan were underdogs as they took on Manchester City and battled to the very end with a late goal from Ben Watson. Swansea's win was more emphatic against an impressive Bradford City but Swansea came out on top with a 5-0 win over the league two side.
Luis Suarez (again)
Luis Suarez had his best goalscoring season in England this year scoring 30 goals in all competitions, 23 in the Premiership. Unfortunately for him, he let him self down once again, this time against Chelsea by biting Branislav Ivanovic. This resulted him been banned for 10 games which will carry on into next season with rumours indicating he may leave Anfield this summer.Frank Lampard and Chelsea
Frank Lampard became Chelsea's all-time top scoring breaking the record set by Bobby Tambling. He scored his 202nd and 203rd goal breaking the record against Aston Villa. Lampard also had a great season with his team too as they with the Europa League against Benfica. Fernando Torres and Branislav Ivanovic scored to crown Chelsea double Champions of Europe for a few days.

This seasons finale was deemed a disappointing one compared to last year's as as all teams were relegated and the champions had already been crowned. The only final day drama came at the expense of Champions League qualification between the North London Sides, Arsenal scraped into 4th by beating Newcastle 1-0, they finished 1pt above their neighbours and rivals Tottenham who once again fall in Arsenal's shadows.Goodbye To Many LegendsThe game saw many legends announce their retirements this season and more notable than most was that of Sir Alex Ferguson. He announced that he would retire after 26 years in charge of Manchester United. Also at Manchester, Paul Scholes announce his second retirement. David Beckham was also a high profile figure who declared that this was his final year and that he would hang his boots up. He ended with an emotional fair well in Paris, captaining PSG and becoming the first Englishman to win 4 titles in different countries.
Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher announced earlier in the year that this would be his last. Fittingly, his last game was at Anfield to which he nearly scored a spectacular goal but it wasn't to be. Carragher is one of only two members of the current Liverpool squad who won the Champions League in 2005, the other being the other Kopite Steven Gerrard.
Hanging up their boots and gloves are England International Michael Owen who had an injury plagued career, Newcastle legend Steve Harper and Everton skipper Phil Neville. An unfortunate retirement was that of Stiliyan Petrov who has been forced to retire as he battles against acute leukaemia.
