BAYERN ARE STUBBORN

Ferguson has said that there's not much happening on the Owen Hargreaves saga.

"There is nothing I can tell you," He told PremPlus after yesterday's game.

"We are trying hard, but they are very stubborn and resistant are Bayern Munich. I can understand that and we can only do our best.

"I think we want to build a strong squad of players and there are key elements to that and that is certainly the case with Owen."

He then hit with the bad news if Bayern aren't willing to sell.

He added: "We have a terrific squad. You saw the centre of midfield today was excellent.

"Michael Carrick is coming back, hopefully, next week and it gives us more ammunition.

"I'm very satisfied with the squad as a whole. We have 20-odd players and that is hopefully enough."

So expect another season of Fletcher and O'Pie after Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness said:

"I can't understand all the excitement because this story was over two weeks ago,"

"We have made it clear that Owen Hargreaves is not for sale."

"(Manchester United chief executive) David Gill can phone me up at 8.30 every morning to talk about the English weather or tea but not about Owen Hargreaves."
