BAYERN TAKE THEIR BALL HOME

Bayern are being investigated by the Deutsche Football
League for receiving a top up of £14.8m from the KirchMedia
group in a secret marketing deal.

There is a possibility that they will be docked points as
punishment for agreeing a deal that went against the
principal of central marketing, and that is something that
they are not willing to accept.

Club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, speaking to Sport-Bild,
said:

"If there is a verdict that we cannot accept, the
consequence would be that we would pull out of all bodies
[ruling German soccer],"

Franz Beckenbauer, the former chairman and current president
of the club's supervisory board, joins in:

"The Bundesliga will have to see how they go without us.
We'll join the league in Italy and play against Milan and
Rome."
