BE SEEN AND NOT HEARD, LA

Rooney has accused Chelsea of a lack of respect following claims that the league is a one-horse race:

“I think that is just a lack of respect for the other teams in the Premiership. There are a lot of good teams in the Premiership and various clubs can win the league.”

“Chelsea have had a great start, but we have had a good start as well. We have had some tough away games and are still unbeaten. It is going to be a tough season again, but hopefully we can snatch the title back off Chelsea.”

“They have won all their games and have not conceded a goal, so I think they are doing something right. We can still compete with Chelsea - and anyone in the world. We have got the players. Hopefully it will be a good season.”

On Keane’s injury:

“It is disappointing he is out, and it is a big loss for us, but hopefully the players who come in will do the job as well.”

Speaking to the BBC he said:

"I don't think the league is getting boring. A lot of teams have got a lot better now. They go to Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United and set their stall to get a result so if it means playing 4-5-1, it's good for that team.”

A bit like United’s own tactics eh?
