BECKS CAN HANDLE THE SPOTLIGHT

Beckham is constantly being linked with a move away from Old
Trafford but he doesn’t let that affect his performances:

"It never gets me down," he said. "I know there will always
be speculation about all players so I don't let anything get
me down.

"It does make me laugh at times, but that is what happens.
If I go to a holiday destination somewhere in Europe, then
there will always be speculation that I had been going over
for talks."

He has also learned to cope with the outside pressures that
accompany his every move:

"I can only speak for myself and it doesn't effect me one
little bit on the pitch. I'm a professional person and
nothing is in my head when I cross that white line except
playing football and I have always said that.

"Whatever is going on around me, whatever is going on
outside the game, when I am playing football that is it.
That is part of being at Manchester United if you are not on
the ball and not ready for a game then the manager sees it.

"Whatever is going on, once I am on the pitch that is all I
am thinking about, playing football and winning games."
